Three decades of building the response management category

Since 1994, RocketDocs has helped the world's most regulated companies respond to RFPs, DDQs, and security questionnaires faster, with more accuracy, and with the audit trail their compliance teams can trust. The market has changed many times. The mission has not.

The story

The story behind RocketDocs

What began as a solution to simplify our own work has grown into a long-standing commitment to building the best response management tools for the teams who can least afford to send the wrong answer.

We were founded in 1994 as PMAPS Proposal Software. Our founders had firsthand experience in the RFP and sales response industry, which meant they understood the pressures of tight deadlines, high performance expectations, and limited resources. They built the platform they wished they had.

When we entered the market, we had exactly one competitor. We helped define the response management category. We have spent the three decades since refining what response management means for regulated industries: financial services, healthcare, life sciences, and enterprise tech. The platform has changed. The architecture has evolved through several major generations. The customer base has grown to include some of the most heavily regulated organizations in the world.

In 2018, we rebranded as RocketDocs to reflect the speed and scale our platform now delivers. The DNA is the same: practitioners building tools for practitioners, with a respect for the compliance bar regulated industries operate under. The reach is broader: today, RocketDocs serves customers across financial services, healthcare, life sciences, and enterprise technology, with marquee clients including J.P. Morgan, Bank of America, Prudential, Deutsche Bank, Aetna, and SAP.

What we believe

What we believe

Three principles shape every product decision we make.

Private AI is the only AI architecture that survives compliance review

Generative AI changes how response teams work. It also changes the compliance posture of every platform that touches customer data. We believe regulated industries deserve AI that runs inside their environment, not AI that flows their data through external model providers. That belief shaped our investment in private generative AI that runs on Llama 3.3 and is hosted privately inside our environment.

Office-native workflows respect the people who do the work

Most response teams already live in Microsoft Word and Excel. Asking them to learn a new platform interface, work in a separate web app, and accept formatting drift on every export is a tax on the people who actually ship the responses. We built LaunchPad to put the platform inside the tools your team already knows, so the work happens where the work happens.

Audit trail is not a feature. It is a foundation.

Regulated buyers do not get to apologize for an unverifiable response. If a customer or a regulator asks who approved an answer, when, and based on what evidence, the answer should be no more than three clicks away. We built audit trails into every action from day one, and we have refined them through three decades of regulated-industry deployments.

Values

The values that propel us

Do the right thing, always

A responsibility underscoring the importance of ethical behavior, integrity, and accountability in every aspect of business operations. The right thing is not always the easiest thing. It is the thing that lets us look our customers, our colleagues, and ourselves in the eye.

Empower information superheroes

A commitment to enabling employees, customers, and partners to become empowered and influential figures within their organizations. Response management is unglamorous work that matters enormously to the businesses it supports. The people who do it deserve tools that make them faster, more accurate, and more trusted.

Innovate from experience

A pledge to leverage past knowledge and insights, successes and failures alike, to drive innovation and progress. Three decades of regulated-industry deployments give us patterns the market has not seen yet. We use them.

Be good stewards

A duty to responsible management and wise utilization of resources, both internal and external. Customer trust, employee careers, environmental impact, and the broader category we helped create all deserve careful stewardship.

Enabled by diversity and inclusion

A commitment to having diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. The companies we serve operate across geographies, cultures, and regulatory frameworks. The team that serves them needs the same range.
