This week’s employee spotlight features Helen Torbe, a Senior Customer Success Manager at RocketDocs. Working out of London, Helen has been a member of the team since 2009. While she may have dreamt of being an international show jumper in a past life, she loves working with her customers to help them achieve their goals.
What did you do before coming to RocketDocs?
Prior to joining RocketDocs I worked for a global investment management company in London as Content Manager and Proposal Writer using an older version of the RocketDocs platform.
What made you want to work at RocketDocs?
I sort of fell into the role, really. As a customer of RocketDocs I received amazing customer service. Everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable! It seemed a fun and dynamic company to work for and I knew I could make use of my experience to help others.
What’s your role at RocketDocs?
As a Senior Customer Success Manager, it’s my job to be the customer’s advocate within RocketDocs. I help to ensure they are getting the best out of the platform by understanding their requirements and helping them use the solution in different ways to meet their individual needs.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
I love talking to our customers and learning about their proposal challenges, and then working with them to find solutions. Most of my customers are from the same background as me in investment management. I think that’s always nice for our customers to see, that we’ve been there and done that. We’ve faced the troubles they’re facing today. We understand what they’re trying to achieve.
A lot of my customers are very concentrated in the London area, which is where I live, so it’s very easy to go in and meet them. I try to get all my customers together once a quarter to talk about the product and the industry as a whole.
What’s something unique about working at RocketDocs?
Working here is always flexible. I may work late for a U.S. meeting, but then the next day I might finish early, or I might start a bit later. RocketDocs is great about just letting you get on with it.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I am a very crafty person and love anything creative – right now I am learning historic gold work embroidery techniques. I also enjoy the gym and horse riding.
What is your favorite place that you’ve visited?
The year my twins both left for university, my husband and I traveled to Jordan where we were lucky enough to visit Petra and see the amazing ancient Treasury carved into the rock.
What is your favorite movie on earth?
So many favorite movies, from The English Patient to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade!
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I was pony mad as a child and wanted to be an international show jumper … perhaps in the Olympics!
What is a funny thing to know about you?
I have a real spider phobia. I was sitting here a few weeks ago on a web meeting and I could see something out of the corner of my eye. It was a tiny little spider crawling along the top of my laptop. And I’m like, “what do I do?”. Even though I know they don’t hurt you, I just don’t like the feel of it.
